NAFI members get exclusive access to a members only area that has a job hot-line, an “Ask the Masters” area to communicate with your colleague NAFI instructors across the country, archives of past issues of eMentor, plus instructor tools to help in teaching.

Programs

Master Instructors The Professional Standards Committee of NAFI has created the Master Instructor Designation Program to achieve similar goals within the flight instruction community as exists within other professional disciplines. This program recognizes and encourages a flight instructor’s professional development and continuous involvement in the aviation community.

Government representation
NAFI is well respected in Washington, DC as the representative of the flight instructor community. NAFI keeps a close watch on FAA actions and proposals, and coordinates with the FAA to ensure the best interest of flight instructors.

Insurance The National Association of Flight Instructors (NAFI) is helping meet the needs of flight instructors who are facing increasing difficulty obtaining insurance coverage with the introduction of the expanded NAFI Instructors’ and Master CFI Insurance Plan. This plan, administered by Falcon Insurance Agency of Austin, Texas, is available to all NAFI-member instructors as well as NAFI Master CFIs. It is also available to NAFI members who are Designated Flight Examiners, an underserved group of instructors that has faced extreme obstacles finding insurance coverage in the past.

Recognition
"Ambassadors of Aviation" deserve recognition. NAFI has existing programs to acknowledge longevity and experience in the flight instructor community. The Association founded and administers the Flight Instructor Hall of Fame. With annual inductions taking place in Oshkosh, WI, this has proven to be the crowning achievement for professional aviation educators.

Field efforts and activities
NAFI is promoting flight instruction and involvement at dozens of aviation field events. You’ll find NAFI at air shows, fly-ins and expositions.
